Camille Villar joins Bangus Festival in Dagupan, commits continued support for fisheries, agriculture

Senatorial aspirant Camille Villar joined the vibrant celebration of the Bangus Festival in Dagupan, Pangasinan, where she expressed strong optimism for the continued growth of the local milkfish (bangus) industry.
Villar, a millennial candidate in the 2025 elections, was visibly thrilled as she participated in the Bangusan Street Party, the festival’s highlight event that featured an impressive display of 20,000 pieces of bangus grilled on 1,100 grills along the city’s streets.
“The Bangus Festival is not only a celebration of Dagupan’s rich harvest, but also a tribute to the people whose hard work keeps the aquaculture industry thriving,” Villar said.
She emphasized the significance of the event as a symbol of the city’s cultural identity and economic strength, rooted in its long-standing contribution to the country’s aquaculture sector.
Following her participation in the festivities, Villar pledged to continue championing initiatives that support local farmers and fisherfolk, especially in Pangasinan where aquaculture plays a vital role in livelihood and development.
The Bangus Festival, held annually in Dagupan, is one of the Philippines’ most anticipated cultural events, drawing crowds from across the country to celebrate the city’s prized product and heritage.
