Villar to focus on boosting agriculture sector in the Zambales

Castillejos, Zambales – Senatorial candidate Camille Villar said that she wants to help boost agriculture sector in the province during her visit in this town on Monday.

The youngest daughter of renowned businesswoman and former senate President Manny and Cynthia Villar has expressed her intention of providing much needed assistance to the farmers and fisherfolk of the province.

She said that her family has been closely working with PhilMech in ensuring that farming would be done efficiently. She also emphasised the importance of agribusiness trainings to farmers and fisherfolk.

The young Villar said that the producers should be well versed in businesses that involves farming, food processing, distribution, and related services like equipment manufacturing and marketing. She also aims to entice the youth to take up agriculture as the number of Filipino farmers are dwindling.

The lady official was welcomed by Mayor Jeff Khonghun and took part in Monday’s flag raising ceremony at the Castillejos Municipal Hall grounds.

The mayor said that the Khonghuns and the Villars are family friends, and that the young Senatorial candidate calls her “Tito” to show respect.

“The Villars have always supported the agricultural growth of Castillejos, with the recent construction of the town’s dairy box. I believe that Camille has the capability to lead and help the Filipino people at the senate,” Khonghun said.

After her visit to Castillejos, she also paid a visit to other towns in the province as well as Olongapo City.
