Senatorial candidate Camille Villar reaffirmed her commitment to champion agriculture, education, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as top priorities in her legislative agenda, during a visit to Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental over the weekend.

Speaking before local leaders and constituents, Villar emphasized the importance of investing in sectors that directly uplift communities and drive grassroots development.

“Agriculture, education, and small businesses are key to unlocking inclusive growth and lasting progress,” Villar said. “These are the areas that touch the everyday lives of Filipinos—and they will remain at the core of my work in the Senate.”

Villar expressed gratitude for the warm reception she received from officials and residents during her provincial dialogue. Among those who joined her were Misamis Oriental First District Rep. Christian Unabia, along with mayors from various municipalities including Gutalac, Balingasag, Initao, Salay, Naawan, Villanueva, Claveria, Talisayan, Binuangan, Magsaysay, Kinoguitan, and Lagonglong.

She highlighted small SMEs as the foundation of the Philippine economy, noting their ability to generate jobs and spur local development.

“When we support SMEs, we support families, we support communities, and we build a stronger future for the country,” she said.

Villar also assured Misamis Oriental that it will not be left behind in her national platform, promising continued engagement and partnership with the province.

“Thank you for sharing your advocacies with me. Hindi ko po makakalimutan yan. Makaaasa po kayo na kahit saan ako makarating, babalik at babalik ako sa Misamis Oriental,” Villar declared.

The visit is part of Villar’s broader campaign to listen to communities across the country and shape a people-centered policy agenda rooted in empowerment, resilience, and opportunity.
