MANILA — House Rep. Camille Villar filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator on Friday, aiming to takeover the seat to be vacated by her mother, outgoing Sen. Cynthia Villar.
Villar was accompanied by her father, billionaire Manny Villar, and brother Sen. Mark Villar.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa walang sawang suporta na ibinibigay po sa atin. All I really want to do is share blessings,” Villar said after being asked about “nepotism” and political dynasties.
The Senate aspirant also addressed criticisms against her mother’s proposed policies on agriculture.
“My mother Sen. Cynthia Villar is very passionate about the agriculture sector and her real aim and motivation is truly to help our own farmers, to have their own land. And to the best of her ability, she has done that,” Villar said.
