Proud of you, anak! Manny Villar beams as Camille joins Senate

Ultra bilyonaryo Manny Villar couldn’t hide his pride as he watched daughter Camille Villar officially proclaimed senator-elect, making her the fourth member of the political clan to hold a Senate seat.

The former Senate President was all smiles as he accompanied Camille to the proclamation ceremony, held days after the May 12 midterm elections. Camille, who placed 10th, is set to join her brother Senator Mark Villar when the 20th Congress opens in July.

She brought her husband, daughter, and younger brother Paolo Villar — the only Villar sibling who has not (yet?) entered politics — to the event.

“Congratulations to my daughter, Sen. Camille Villar!” the proud father posted. “Your dedication, heart, and hard work have brought you this far, and now the real journey begins.”

“I’m beyond proud of you — not just for winning, but for standing firm in your purpose. May you continue to serve with integrity, humility, and courage. We’re always here to support you,” he added.

Noticeably absent was outgoing Senator Cynthia Villar, who had mounted a failed bid to return to the House of Representatives as Las Piñas congresswoman. She lost to Councilor Mark Anthony Santos in a rare upset.
